Maldives

1,192 coral islands scattered across a single ocean horizon — where the water has more shades of blue than a name can hold.

Plan My Maldives Journey

There is no skyline here, only water finding new ways to be still.

The Maldives is the flattest country on earth — a nation with no hills, no rivers, no borders you can see. What it has instead is reef: a living structure beneath the surface that quietly shapes everything above it, from the colour of the lagoon to the rhythm of the tide. Most of its 1,192 islands are uninhabited. The ones that aren't tend to hold a single resort, a single village, or nothing built at all — just sand, palm, and the sound of water on two sides at once.

A Biosphere Reserve, Not a Backdrop

UNESCO-protected waters where hundreds of manta rays gather each summer in Hanifaru Bay to feed at dusk — one of the few places on the planet where you can watch it happen from the water itself.

Where the Whale Sharks Feed Year-Round

A ring of channels and drop-offs on the western edge of the archipelago, drawing divers for its consistent whale shark sightings and reef walls that fall away into deep blue within metres of the shore.

Twenty Minutes From the Capital, A World Apart

The most accessible ring of islands, home to the country's best surf breaks and the shortest seaplane hops — ideal for travellers who want reef and reachability in the same trip.

NOVEMBER – APRIL
28°C
The Dry Season

Calm seas, clear skies and the best underwater visibility of the year — driven by the gentler northeast monsoon. Peak season for diving and honeymoon travel alike.

MAY – OCTOBER
27°C
The Wet Season

Short, dramatic downpours driven by the southwest monsoon, followed by clear afternoons. Surf builds along the outer atolls, and resort rates ease considerably.
